As a senior at Sacred Heart University majoring in Finance and Economics with a minor in Accounting, I had the opportunity to be a part of the Stamford CFA Society’s inaugural Investment Management Program (“IMP”), which educates and prepares you for the CFA and a career path in finance.  My internship at Bloomberg was priceless, providing me with hands-on experience across a number of functions.  I worked in the analytics department which broadened my knowledge of markets and various market participants.  I was also able to interface with many hedge fund clients, working on customizing models and data to fit their individual needs.  I reported to several supervisors over the course of the internship which gave me additional insight into different career paths.  One of my most memorable times at Bloomberg was meeting Tom Keene, editor-at-large for Bloomberg News and host of Bloomberg Surveillance.  I would recommend future IMP students pursue this internship because you learn to look at the market not just from one view point but from various view points.  My SCFAS mentor also provided me with tremendous help in regards to career advice and support.

Overall, I was exposed to some of the most respected leaders in the financial world and I am proud to say that the IMP has prepared me for a successful career in finance, starting with my new job at Bloomberg after graduation.
